In Spite of Me

Hello Everyone. Someone. Anyone.

As I often times conduct my self inventory, I am often overwhelmed with gratitude at God's love and His overextension of grace and mercy.

As I sat in service on Sunday, the Holy Spirit ministered to me the phrase and topic of today's blog...

In Spite of Me

The revelation... simply stated!

When I'm at my worst,
God is at His best!
Not because of me;
In spite of me.

God will get His glory
Nonetheless!
Not because of me,
In spite of me.

God in His ingenious plan for our lives, can take our imperfections and use them to manifest His perfect will in our lives.

We are like old pennies; outwardly, we need to be shined up to see our brilliance, yet we maintain our value and are still counted as ONE, continuously being re-polished and restored at the hand of God... THE PROCESS!

The bible says that we are "The Apple of God's Eye." Imperfect in the flesh, prone to sin, yet saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

God knows all about us, He knows us better than we know ourselves. When you go before the Lord, take to Him your imperfections... He already knows about it and He will lead you and guide you.

I love ~Psalms 139, which contains the overarching scripture associated with my blog; Please read it in its entirety and be blessed.

Here's a poem, entitled In Spite of Me that I found online (Look at God).

In Spite of Me
by Larry Smith

Inside of me, In spite of me,
Christ my savior lives.
Inside of me, in spite of me
Christ my Lord forgives.

Well within my sin darkened soul,
In my inmost place,
Christ Jesus makes me ever whole,
By His wondrous Grace.

Outside of me, in spite of me
God uses me each day.
Outside of me, in spite of me
God has His own way.

When I submit to His leading
Then, trust in His care,
I find that I am succeeding
For He’s always there.

All around me, in spite of me,
Others come to Him.
All around me, in spite of me
Freed from lives so grim

If ever I’m the one He uses
To reach one that’s lost
It’s in spite of my faults and bruises:
He’s…paid all the cost.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works,
so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Eph 2:8-10 NIV
