Stand for Something... or Fall for Anything!

Hello Everyone!

It's Tenacious Tuesday... Don't Be Weary; Stay on the Course!

te⋅na⋅cious [tuh-ney-shuhs]: holding fast; persistent, stubborn, or obstinate, holding together; cohesive; not easily pulled asunder; tough.

This is an appropriate word for this week's topic.
Stand for Something or Fall for Anything.

We are commanded according to Ephesians 6:11 to "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil".

Hence, Stand for Something or Fall for Anything...

God's use of "ARMOR" helps us to capture the essence of this scripture in a visual sense. Armor is heavy duty material formerly used in battle to withstand the oncoming attack of the opposition. It shields and protects us from harm. The same is true of the word of God. It's our armor that prepares us for battle. But this war is not one that we can fight physically, it is indeed a spiritual war.

Let's examine the word "STAND". Stand is an action word; a position; a stance; being in a place of readiness. Standing is an alert state, a fixed state; unmovable, non-shifting; committed and convicted.

"WILES" appropriately means deceit and trickery. We know that the enemy's purpose has nothing good attached to it. He is the thief who comes is to steal, kill, and destroy ~ John 10:10; and he is a master of his trade. He entices us through things that are familiar and he takes portions of truth in order to orchestrate his lies and lead us into sin.

Stand for Something or Fall for Anything... is an exact statement.

If you replace for Something with "on the word of God" and Anything with "The wiles of the enemy".

The statement then reads: Stand on the word of God or Fall for the wiles of the enemy!

We are often convicted by and committed to our opinions. Let's stand on the firm, true and unwavering word of God.

Stay blessed!

Committed to Stand!
