Adaptation, Adoption, Consummate Redemption, Yom Kippur, and more...
October 1, 2014
Yesterday, upon awakening, the Father gave me the word "adaptation." I looked up the definition to both adaptation and adapt.
adapt
: to make sustainable to requirements or conditions, adjust or modify fittingly
: to adjust oneself to different conditions, environment
adaptation
: modification of a thing to suit new conditions
: the act of being adapted
: any alteration in the structure or function of an organism or any of its parts that results from natural selection and by which the organism becomes better fitted to survive and multiply in its environment
: a form or structure modified to fit in a changed environment.
We have been receiving and sharing words about a change, modification, transformation, transfiguration, and awaiting the manifestation of what this means more tangibly.
Adaptation seems to speak of a modified or altered state, being made ready, prepared to be adorned in the garments of light and bear the glory and name of our Lord — transfigured.
I am reminded even now about a dream I had from June 3, 2013 entitled the Tuxedo Shop and the Wedding Garment where Miguel (one who is like God) was being fitted for his wedding garment.
Another word that stood out within the synonyms listed was "adoption," and that's the route I was led to follow.
The word adoption is found in the New Testament, and in the Strong's Concordance
(G5206 huiothesia)
adoption, adoption as sons
The definition that stood out the most was...
: the nature and condition of the disciples in Christ who by receiving the Spirit of God into their souls become sons of God.
LEXICON: the consummate condition of the sons of God which will render it evident that they are the sons of God.
The word adoption appears in Romans 8 in two instances, verses 15 and 23
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
The word adoption also appears in Galatians 4:5
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Consummate condition also stood out, esp. the word consummate.
consummation appears only once in scripture (Daniel 9:27)
(H3617: kalah) completion, termination, full end, complete destruction, annihilation
consummate:
: to bring to a state of perfection; fulfill..
: to complete (an arrangement, agreement, or the like) by a pledge or the signing of a contract:
: to complete (the union of a marriage) by the first marital sexual intercourse.
Daniel 9:27
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
When I did a search for consummate condition, I found consummate redemption.
redemption (G629: apolytrosis)
1. a releasing effected by payment of ransom
A. redemption, deliverance
B. liberation procured by the payment of ransom
consummate redemption seems to speak of a completion, a perfection that will bring about deliverance, liberty. It is also a pledge or contract for such, which speaks to covenant — God's covenant of redemption, His name, Jehovah Elohim, first introduced in Genesis 2:4, when man was formed. The word consummate also speaks to the union of marriage, could this also speak of when we are joined to Yeshua as his bride and the marriage consummation and the Feast of Tabernacles?
Now, all of this sent me to look a bit more closely at the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).
DISCLAIMER: I am not by any means making any assumptions or setting dates, I'm just presenting what I found on my journey from the word adaptation.
The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is also called the Day of Redemption. It is the sixth feast of YHWH. I know that many refer to the feasts as Jewish feasts, but that's not scriptural. They are the feasts of YHWH.
Even while looking into this, I pondered another thought and the scripture in 1 Thess 5:2, about the day of the Lord coming as a thief in the night. The question that comes to mind is could it be because of the lack of knowledge of the appointed times and seasons that it comes as a thief? As I said, I was pondering...
The Day of Atonement can be found in Leviticus 16 and Leviticus 23. It is when the high priest went into the holy of holies and made a blood atonement for his sins and the sins of Israel. We know that Yeshua is our high priest and He is the sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice whose blood has made atonement for all of mankind. Interestingly, Yom Kippur is the sixth feast in God's redemptive cycle, and the number 6 is the number of man(kind).
Another thought I have been pondering is the appearing of the Lord, when He comes in the clouds. While reading about the Day of Atonement again in Lev. 16, verse 2 states, "And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat." Another ponder...
I looked up the word
atonement (H3725: kippur) - atonement, redemptions
It is on the tenth day of the seventh month and the mathematics revealed something interesting.
The number 10 is the number of LAW, TESTIMONY, RESPONSIBILITY
The number 7 is the number of PERFECTION, COMPLETION
Both are significant numbers in God's mathematics.
When you add them together, you get 17, which is the number of VICTORY
When you multiply them, you get 70, which is the number of RESTORATION!
In Leviticus 23, we are instructed to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. This is the burnt offering, which is a crucified life. We are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1). It is what is required.
When Aaron, the high priest approached God in the holy of holies, he was instructed regarding his holy garments and the washing of his flesh in water (the WORD) before he put them on. (Lev. 16:4)
Yes, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMaschiach fulfilled the requirement, the atoning sacrifice and His completed work at the cross of Calvary, the shedding of His blood, opened the way for us, BUT we have a responsibility to deny ourselves, pick up our crosses and follow Him, do as He did, and take this flesh to the cross.
Let us not be rejected by God, such as Nadab and Abihu who offered up strange fire (fleshy works) unto the LORD. There is still a requirement by God for that which He will receive. Let us surrender our lives and allow Him to purge us of the bondage of the flesh.
Let us be aware of the appointed times of God, when He meets with His creation.
Let us not miss our day of visitation.
Remember to look up, for our redemption draweth nigh!
